Emily Wollet

Emily Wollet, a former Youngstown State University (YSU) track and field student-athlete, currently serves as an Associate Athletic Director for YSU Athletics. Emily works closely with the Director of Student Outreach and Support at YSU, co-creating the Individualized Wellness Program to support at-risk student-athletes and established the Student-Athlete Welfare Committee. This committee is comprised of several staff members from across various areas of the department to review department policy and practice to better meet student needs. Emily oversees the Athletic Training and the Strength and Conditioning departments and is the sport administrator for the volleyball, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s cross country and indoor/outdoor track and field programs. She also is the NCAA compliance liaison for football, men’s basketball, baseball and men’s and women’s golf. During her time on the YSU staff, Emily has overseen the National Letter of Intent (NLI) program, Bylaw 15 (NCAA Financial Aid) and all NCAA waiver requests. She also has overseen the Student-Athlete Affairs program, co-advised Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and served as the athletic department’s liaison to the Office of Housing and Residence Life and Student Conduct.

Emily joined the YSU staff following her time as a member of the NCAA Postgraduate Internship Program within Academic and Membership Affairs (AMA) at the NCAA National Office in Indianapolis. During her time in AMA, she handled a variety of duties including providing NCAA rules interpretations to public, institutional and conference constituents; processed waiver cases involving initial eligibility, progress-toward-degree, legislative relief and Academic Progress Rate (APR) adjustments; evaluated APR improvement plans and updated head coach APR; and served on the Presidential Retreat Rules Working Group. She also assisted with the Olympic Sports Liaison Committee, the NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum and the Women Basketball’s Final Four Youth Clinics.

Prior to her time in Indianapolis, Emily began her athletic administration career within the YSU Athletics Department as a NCAA compliance intern. As a compliance intern, she researched NCAA legislation, reviewed and verified initial and continuing eligibility and APR data. She assisted with various NCAA reports, recruiting documentation and compliance issues.
